Brazilian geode, kiln-formed glass, copper, steel
private collection

Apogee: the point in the orbit of a heavenly body, especially the moon, or of a man-made satellite at which it is farthest from the earth. (Wikipedia) The Brazillian geode featured at the center of this upright sculpture came from a very old and rare collection. Providing a sculptural setting for such a beautiful rock allows it to be newly-appreciated and enjoyed day-to-day as the sunlight moves across the sculpture, highlighting glass, copper and rock.
