Sometimes I have the privilege of collaborating with other inspiring artists. Exploring the-body-as-landscape, with ceramicist Gerda Francesca, has been a joyous collaboration. Together, we body-cast a model in plaster. This cast form has been used repeatedly in the work (front and rear views) to develop our ideas of lava, lichen, rivulets, and forest glades on the female form. Clay sculptures built from the original form are used to as a ceramic body-base and to slump glass. From left to right: “Aphrodite,” “Laka” (forest goddess from Kauai) and “Callista.”
